Fluorescence cards are based on rare-earth ions embedding in special solid state matrix coated on a substrate and laminated with clear plastic sheeting (IR detector card – FID-C) or incorporated into Ceramic Disks (FID-CD).

FID-Cards and FID-CD disks can be applied to detect and locate IR radiation from Near IR-light sources such as Nd-YAG lasers, LED and Laser Diodes and to evaluate spatial distribution of laser or LED beam intensity directly.

Due to high efficiency these detectors can be used in common under light condition and not required previously charging from another sort of light (UV or IR source, for example). When FID cards or discs are used for lasers – common safety precautions must be observed. There are no radioactive and toxic components used in FID products fabrication, so they are safe even when damaged by extremely high density of IR irradiation (above 109 W/cm2). FID-CD discs are reusable and can be repaired after laser induced heat damage by their surface polishing.
